As a kid growing up in the 50’s attending a Catholic school, I remember hearing about the Christophers. Father James Keller, M.M. founded the Christophers in 1945. He believed:
…that every person, however shy or obscure, had something to give to the world.
That is something I need to be reminded of on a regular basis. Kailash Satyarthi in today’s TED Talk does just that sharing how he has been and continues to be the change he wants to see in his world. His story dramatizes in contemporary terms, the power of lighting one candle, the motto of the Christophers as well as the power of compassion.
We are a community of laymen and laywomen who, with vowed Passionists, seek to share in the charism of St. Paul of the Cross through prayer, ongoing spiritual formation, and proclamation of the message of Christ Crucified.
