Sometimes I sit and think, “What a great person I am. I pray and meditate every day. I give to my church and support causes I believe in (sometimes). I smile at my neighbors and say good morning… Then I hear a story like Anand Giridharadas’ in today’s TED Talk selection.
If you are like me, you don’t understand the Holocaust, Rowanda, people killing one another, the Roman persecution of the Jews or the one percent vs. the 99 percent. The one thing I do believe I understand though, is these aren’t new stories.
As I enter into the Triduum of this Holy Week, I will remember Anand Giridharadas’ story and pray for guidance and forgiveness.
