In every age there have been prophets of doom. These days many more disasters are predicted in the near future. Typical concerns exist over nuclear warfare, biological outbreaks, and diminishing fresh water supplies worldwide. Natural disasters could wipe most life out globally, such as super volcano eruptions or a direct hit by a meteor or comet. Then many believe that soon robots will exist that are more intelligent than humans and could possibly reign superior. Financial experts warn us that an impending catastrophe looms with the risky monetary policies that exist worldwide. Haven’t we got enough to worry about with everyday “normal” living?
Where the future is concerned, there is always uncertainty. Looking forward, we have apprehensions and fears along with hopes and aspirations. Sometimes we wish we knew what is ahead and yet when we look back on events many times we see that things turned out for the best. Still, it would be nice if we had a scout, someone to break a trail or look ahead of our path and warn us or give the go ahead on our path.
Time machines have often been a fantasy described in books and films but how do we know if things would be any better if we could really go into the past or the future? Someone has done exactly that. He was there in the beginning. He is here today and He will be present on the last day. He has assured those who believe in Him that nothing can separate His love for them from Him.
“In all these things we overcome because of Him who loves us. For I am certain that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor the present things, nor the future things, nor strength, nor height, nor the depths, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8 :37-38
