How a Blind Man Brings Vision to the City

Life often seems to present insurmountable challenges, causing us to wonder what it’s all about. Chris Downey in this TED talk tells of learning to see and dream after loosing his sight.

Many Chicago Partners will remember Elizabeth Brown who was blind from birth. She, her companion dog, Damian and her husband, Ed came and participated in our regular monthly meetings. I remember especially Elizabeth embracing life, raising a family, teaching at Catholic Theological Union and inspiring all who knew her to accept who they are.

How about you, do you know someone, maybe yourself, who has shown the world that what they call disabilities are really the gifts that make us who we are?
