August 24, 2013: Asheville Rally | Beyond Coal.
Many people still question the studies that suggest we are harming our environment with our continued dependence upon fossil fuels. I don’t personally, but that’s not why I chose the above link for this week’s blog. I chose this because I see here a group of people who are concerned about the well being of not only themselves, but also mother earth. Yes, we call our home, mother earth. We do this because she is the source of our life as well as our continued existence. We don’t need scientists to tell us we are dependent upon mother earth. We do need each other to remind us to be compassionately concerned for how we treat not only other people, but also mother earth. Thank you Asheville residents for your great reminder. We are a community of laymen and laywomen who, with vowed Passionists, seek to share in the charism of St. Paul of the Cross through prayer, ongoing spiritual formation, and proclamation of the message of Christ Crucified.
